The US Route 6 Tourist Association is developing a new Event of Interest section designed to help travelers, residents, and US Route 6 enthusiasts discover annual events in communities along this historic highway.
Instead of searching through dozens of websites trying to determine what might be happening during your trip, you will be able to start with the Event of Interest State Pages.
What Is an Event of Interest?
An Event of Interest is an annual or recurring event that gives visitors another reason to explore a community along or near US Route 6.
The new section will feature events such as:
- Festivals and community celebrations
- Classic car and automotive shows
- Air shows
- Rodeos
- Parades
- Farmers markets
- County and community fairs
- Arts and crafts festivals
- Heritage and historical celebrations
- Holiday events
- Food festivals
- Agricultural events
- Other annual community traditions
The goal is not simply to build another event calendar. We want to highlight events that can become part of the US Route 6 travel experience.
Explore Events State by State
US Route 6 crosses 14 states, from Massachusetts to California. Each state has its own communities, traditions, celebrations, and annual attractions.
The Event of Interest archive will be organized by state, making it easier to concentrate on the part of US Route 6 you are planning to visit.
The states will follow the highway from east to west:
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California.

Within each state, events will be organized chronologically, helping you see what is coming up throughout the year.
