Experience The Wall That Heals in Brooklyn, Iowa
A Powerful Opportunity to Remember, Reflect, and Honor

Some experiences stay with you long after you leave. The Wall That Heals is one of those experiences.
From July 30 through August 2, 2026, the community of Brooklyn, Iowa, located just a short drive from historic US Route 6, will welcome The Wall That Heals, the traveling three quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Along with the memorial, visitors can explore the Mobile Education Center, which shares the stories of those who served and the lasting impact of the Vietnam War on America.
Whether you are a Vietnam veteran, a family member, a history enthusiast, or someone who simply wishes to pay tribute, this exhibit offers a meaningful opportunity to remember the more than 58,000 service members whose names are inscribed on The Wall. Visitors can experience the memorial up close, reflect in a peaceful setting, and learn more about the sacrifices made by a generation of Americans.
One of the best parts of this special event is that admission is completely free. The exhibit is open to everyone, making it an ideal opportunity for families, schools, veterans organizations, and community groups to visit together and share in this important experience. The Wall remains on display around the clock throughout the event, allowing visitors to come at a time that is most meaningful for them.
As you explore historic US Route 6 through Iowa, consider making Brooklyn one of your stops. Events like this remind us that our nation’s highways connect more than communities. They connect stories, memories, and the people who preserve them for future generations.
