Altadena Haunted Jail Returns for Halloween 2026

Altadena Haunted Jail announcement listing October 24, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Some very spooky criminals have escaped, and Halloween visitors are invited to investigate. Are you brave enough to step inside?

The Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena is bringing back the Altadena Haunted Jail for the first time in nearly two decades, pairing an evening of scares with a community celebration for family and friends.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is free, with timed entry reservations available for the Haunted Jail.

The jail experience takes visitors inside the Sheriff’s Station, which organizers describe as 99 years old. Its Halloween storyline imagines inmates taking over, setting the scene for creepy surprises and unexpected scares. Bring your courage and a friend who enjoys a good fright.

The celebration continues outdoors at Triangle Park and El Molino Avenue, where the Halloween festival offers plenty of reasons to stay awhile. Planned activities include music and dance, classic Hollywood horror movie clips, food trucks, vendors and Trunk or Treat.

For a group with different interests, that mix makes it easy to build an evening around more than the haunted attraction. Enjoy the entertainment, browse the vendors and make time for something to eat between Halloween activities.

Reserve before you go. Space inside the jail is limited, and organizers recommend a free timed entry ticket to guarantee admission. Walk-up visitors are welcome as capacity allows. Families with younger children should ask organizers about the intensity of the scares before choosing the jail experience.

Donations are appreciated and help cover the free community event and other Sheriff’s Support Group projects.

Ready for an evening of Halloween fun in Altadena? Gather your family and friends, choose your entry time and see who is willing to lead the way inside.

Visit the official event website and reserve your free timed entry. Check the site before leaving for any event updates.
